WHERE IT BEGAN
She wore two bras because the industry forgot about her. For the majority of her life, Soulani founder Aareonna Guest was a woman with a smaller band and a larger cup size in a world where that combination simply did not exist on store shelves. Not hard to find. Nonexistent. Without proper options, she wore ill-fitting bras that offered little to no support.
For years. The physical toll of that was real. So real that it ultimately led to a medically necessary breast reduction. That is not a shopping inconvenience. That is what it means when an entire industry decides a woman's size does not matter. She looked around and realized she wasn't alone. Women with smaller band sizes and fuller cups were settling for ill-fitting bras every single day because the right options simply weren't there. That observation became Soulani's foundation, so Aareonna is building what the industry refused to.
Soulani currently offers inclusive lingerie for women of all sizes, with a proprietary prototype in development that aims to advance the industry in ways it has never seen.
THE NAME
Soulani is not just a brand name. It's an identity. The name Soulani was inspired by the word soul, a word deeply woven into the story of Black Americans. More than a feeling, soul represents creativity, resilience, beauty, expression, and a cultural influence that has shaped generations.
For centuries, Black Americans have transformed art, music, fashion, language, and culture, leaving an undeniable mark on the world. Not simply through what they created, but through the spirit behind it. A spirit defined by perseverance, individuality, confidence, and depth. During Black History Month in February 2025, founder Aareonna Guest found herself reflecting on the meaning of that word and the people it represents. What began as a search for the right brand name became an opportunity to create something that honored the community, culture, and legacy that helped shape her own identity.
Soulani was born from that intention.
A lingerie brand designed to move with the body, shape confidence, and feel personal the moment it’s worn.
